Using DentiSign
Dear Dental Professionals,
Please read the following notes before using DentiSignTM in your dental office.
To maximize the benefit from DentiSign, it is important that all dental office team members are aware of DentiSign and associated benefits;
- Patient anxiety is reduced
- Reduced procedure time – more efficient dental office
- Improved patient experience
The importance of encouragement - your role. The adoption of DentiSign by patients is directly affected by your dental teams’ adoption and promotion of the dental sign language.
- DentiSign should be presented to the dental team, and all team members should ensure that they learn DentiSign.
- The patient should be presented with a DentiSign card upon check-in or when seated in the dental chair, and encouraged to review it and employ DentiSignTM during their procedure.
Enabling patient-dentist communication and team work. The patient needs to be confident that the dental team will follow their direction when they use the dental sign language.
- It is important that the dental practitioner learns to respect patient requests made via DentiSign.
- Do not rely on your instinctual ability to know what a patient means.
After all, this is the purpose of DentiSign
- to give the patient a voice.
- Reduce dental anxiety.
- Foster a team approach
- Provide an improved dental experience for both you and the patient.
